Three Pageland Red Roosters are preparing for the NCAA Division III Regionals taking place this weekend. Mike Pagano of Augustana (IL) and Andrew Pooler of St. Joseph's-Maine will be playing this weekend in different regionals.
Mike is considered the ace for the third seeded Vikings (32-11). He will have a bit of an advantage, because the Vikings host the Central Regional, which begins on Thursday. They will face fourth seeded Wartburg (26-13) at 7 p.m. CNT.
Andrew is one of the main relief pitchers for the sixth seeded Monks (28-16). They travel to Harwich, Massachusetts in the New England Regional where they will face third seeded Keene State (33-9). Andrew has been part of two of the Monks five shutouts this season.
We wish these guys the best of luck and hope they make the D3 World Series in Appleton, WI!
One other Red Rooster's team, Morgan Gregory of Carson-Newman, is getting ready to play in the NCAA Division II South Regional in Tampa, Florida. The fifth seeded Eagles (41-16) will play second seeded Tusculum (40-13) on Thursday. Morgan took a medical red-shirt this year.
