Pageland Loses 8-3

We lost our second game in a row to Anson. They are a solid team and playing very well, but we are shooting ourselves in the foot. Because of financial reasons, two of our pitchers (Jeff Bayse and Andrew Costello) had to leave us for the summer. This leaves our team in a tight pitching spot and we are Johnny Wholestaff during some games, including last night. I was proud of the way some of our guys stepped up and pitched.

Last night we couldn't seem to catch a break. We hit the ball hard, but they didn't find spots, and Anson was able to drop in a few key hits. Andrew Pooler started the game and got the loss.

I have been working on our stats sheet and trying to post it where you can download it on a regular basis. I appreciate your patience.

The three Rider players are on their way down today. I pray they have a safe and relaxing trip.

We play our first nonleague games this weekend. We open on Friday with a DH in Charlotte against the Carolina Hurricane and at Pageland on Saturday against Fuquay Varina. Mike Pagano will start Game 1 on Friday and Dan Gross Game 2. Mario Sencion will start Game 1 on Saturday and Game 2 is TBD.
