Pageland Loses Game 1 2-1; Game 2 Delayed

Saturday Games
We lost 2-1 in Game 1 at Catawba Valley yesterday. Dan Gross pitched another great game. I haven't done the stats for the game yet, but I believe neither of those runs were earned. Unfortunately, we were only able to put up one run. On the positive side, we were hitting the ball much better, just couldn't get it done with men on base. We left runners on base in every inning except one and left runner's on in scoring position in every inning except two. In Game 2 we were up 2-0 in the top of the third when the game was called. It never actually rained at the field, but there was lightning all around us. After about 30-45 minutes the umpires called the game. Catawba's coach, Coach Speaks, said we can hopefully make up the game later in the season.

Website Problems
Our league website, thsbl.com, is having trouble. The server is currently down and we are working on getting the problem solved. However, I have know idea what that means. Hopefully it will be up and running soon enough.

Stats and Players of the Game/Week
I plan on working on this weekend's statistics this afternoon after church and will hopefully have them posted in before 7:00p.m. so I can watch the Fresno St./UNC game. I have a lot of reasons to root for the Tar Heels (we're in the Tar Heel Summer Baseball League, living in North Carolina, Pageland High School Coach is a huge UNC fan, and it would be nice to see them win it after losing in two straight), but the underdog factor is too strong and I am going to be rooting for Fresno St. Plus it would be cool to have the Georgia Bulldogs and Fresno St. Bulldogs for an all-Bulldogs Championship Series. I am a bulldog fan since I have been coaching for the CU-Nebraska Bulldogs.

Enjoy your Sunday!
